News Title Cognis Construction Underway
News Details

Pictured in the early morning hours of June 12th, Kiesland crews are placing over 700 cubic yards of concrete for a mat slab for the building.  The concrete pour required two (2) boom pumps, 25 concrete finishers and 100 truckloads of ready-mixed concrete.  The pour was scheduled at 2:00 am to avoid traffic delays to the concrete deliveries which were scheduled to arrive five minutes apart.

After a lengthy delay in receiving Ohio EPA approvals the High Pressure Boiler expansion at Cognis Oleochemicals is back on track.  Kiesland is working with NBW, Inc from Cleveland, Ohio to construct a new facility which will house newer more energy efficient boilers which produce high pressure steam for the Cognis facility in St. Bernard, Ohio.  Cognis Oleochemicals LLC is one of the world's largest producer of chemicals derived from renewable raw materials.  Their products are used in a variety of industrial applications including plastics, detergents and energy exploration.  Kiesland is working toward a September, 2007 completion of the project.
