Liberty Collective Digs In with a Sensational Entertainment and Dining Venue in Butler County
Family and friends across the Tri-State are digging into a new entertainment venue in Liberty Township. Liberty
Collective is a 26,000 SF complex featuring five regulation sand volleyball courts, five dining spots, and the area’s first self-pour beer tap wall.

Cincinnati commercial contractor Kiesland Development Services was chosen by developers Mike and Heather Ewers to deliver the dining and recreation complex. The new hot spot is in a prime location across the street from Lakota East High School, making it a perfect place for Thunderhawk fans to gather for a bite before or after an event at the school. Liberty Collective was built with sports fanatics in mind – the venue is home to Ohio’s largest LED screen outside of a major sports arena or stadium. An additional 30 televisions inside and outside complex give patrons a variety of spaces to enjoy the big game.

With five restaurants, The District Creamery & Sweets, and Lulu’s Sweets Boutique, Liberty Collective offers something for everyone morning, noon, and night. Early risers may enjoy the Caladesi Island Coffee Co. beginning at 7 am every day, and happy hour is ready to toast any occasion with a variety of social spots, including the Caladesi Bourbon and Wine Bar, two bars offering craft cocktails and top-shelf spirits, and a 32-tap self-pour experience.
The Beach at Liberty Collective offers a variety of lively activities to entertain guests of all ages. The venue offers five premier sand courts for volleyball, including league play, elite training and clinics, tournaments, and social play. Other sand sports on offer include cornhole, dodgeball, flag football, sandy pickleball, and yoga. During cooler months, Liberty Collective’s state-of-the-art indoor golf simulators allow weekend warriors to maintain their swing all year long.
The variety of high-spirited activities and extensive dining options make Liberty Collective a premier destination for Greater Cincinnati, and Kiesland had to consider several construction elements to help bring the Ewers’ dream to fruition. The number of dining and beverage venues required the addition of a shared commercial commissary kitchen that allows each restaurant to prep its food daily. And Kiesland assisted with the engineering needed for the volleyball courts, including finding a way to ensure the outdoor athletic space would drain during heavy rain events. Kiesland collaborated with an expert on outdoor volleyball venues to create a solution that would not only efficiently drain the volleyball courts but also allow for the installation of perimeter netting poles and court trim boards. In all, Kiesland and its subcontractors invested more than 425 man-hours in constructing the outdoor volleyball courts.

Liberty Collective offers patrons a high design aesthetic that is both functional and visually energizing. Phoenix Architecture in Blue Ash provided the architectural design for the structure, and the interior design, including decorative steel, millwork, and other design features, was created by Eli Hariton of Damn Good Interiors in Denver, CO. The complexity of the interior design introduced a variety of challenges throughout the course of the build, and Kiesland worked closely with the design team to ensure the finished product incorporated a distinct, sophisticated look and feel while remaining functional for both guests and staff.

The Kiesland team is proud to deliver this innovative and inspired entertainment and dining destination. We encourage you to check out Liberty Collective sometime soon – who knows, you might just find us lobbing a spike on the volleyball courts.
