Wilmington, Ohio. What’s the recipe for a state-of-the-art medical marijuana cultivation facility? Our hands-on experience suggests a blend of greenhouse + pharmaceutical manufacturing + business office! Kiesland is currently working with Ancient Roots LLC to construct a new facility in Wilmington, Ohio. Ancient Roots was one of the 24 cultivators awarded a license by the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program in 2017.
At this facility, Ancient Roots will have the ability to grow the highest grade medical marijuana for the patients of Ohio . It will be sold to dispensaries that were recently awarded licenses by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. (See story here). For a patient to obtain medical marijuana, they must qualify for one of the 21 qualifying conditions and apply for a patient card through a physician who is certified to recommend (https://med.ohio.gov/Publications/Rosters).
Our crews are pushing for an October completion in order to meet the expected robust demand in Southwest Ohio.
This unique business demanded a highly-customized building equipped with the very latest technologies and systems, including:

Downtown Cincinnati – Republic National Distribution Company is one of the leading distributors of wine and spirits in the US. One of their main customers is Kroger, so they chose a location on East Court Street downtown that is very close to the Kroger offices. With this in mind, they wanted to design a space that would be appealing to their customers for wine-tastings and other similar functions.
Kiesland worked with local manager Teresa Salazar and TDA Architects www.tdaaia.com , to customize the space. Featured in this design are bright accent walls with matching carpet at their entry. The space is situated on the second floor of the building with a large floor-to-ceiling window that overlooks the bustling street outside the building. For the wine-tasting room, a full glass wall was selected to allow the natural light in and create an open feeling to the space.
Working with as many existing walls as possible to keep the cost down, Kiesland crews opened up the floor plan of the space and tied into the existing ceiling grid as much as possible. Once the drywall and finish were completed, the glass, paint and flooring were installed and that is when the space really popped. The result was a very happy new tenant at 125 Court Street and another successful downtown project for Kiesland.

Sharonville, Ohio. The LivINN Hotel located at 11385 Chester Road is expanding to include a new large indoor pool and other guest amenities. The hotel is located adjacent to the Sharonville Convention Center in the growing “Northern Lights District” of Sharonville.
Formerly the Signature Inn, the 130 room property was acquired in 2004 by Burnsville, MN based Rixmann-Sharonville, LLC. Since the acquisition, Rixmann has made extensive improvements to all areas of the facility including common areas and guest rooms.
The proposed salt-water pool will provide a better/healthier swimming experience than a traditional chlorine system. Salt water pools are easier to maintain and chlorine odors are vastly reduced. The design includes an adjacent covered landscaped deck area complete with exterior gas fire pits. Guest access will be enhanced via a new elevator and direct walkway to the Convention Center.
