Sycamore Township, Ohio. FirstStar recently took occupancy of their new headquarters located at 11461 Northlake Drive. Last fall, FirstStar acquired an existing 15,000 sf facility which required extensive renovation and updating to meet current needs. Kiesland provided design/build services in conjunction with KBA Architects www.kbainc.com.
FirstStar Logistics is a global logistics shipping provider offering multi-modal solutions to a variety of industries. First Star is unique in that they offer an affiliated national trucking platform as well as in-house brokerage services. The company has experienced solid growth in recent years due to its unique business model/approach, outstanding customer service and entrepreneurial culture. The new facility needed to support continued growth, foster teamwork and reinforce the company’s image.
Project challenges were numerous. Initially, a very quick turnaround was required for the initial phase of the work to accommodate relocation of the customer services and operation staff. The second, more extensive phase, involved conversion of a former copier showroom into executive offices and conferencing center. The existing building featured a lofted ceiling and a central skylight well which were retained in the final design. Other new design features included natural stone, extensive glass, stainless steel trim and built-in fountain and fireplace features.
Kiesland is proud to have been a part of this project and extends our best wishes to the FirstStar Team for continued growth and success in this 1st class facility.
Blue Ash, Ohio – Engineering Excellence was located in a 6,000 square foot office space and was rapidly running out of room. What started as a regional business had now grown into a national presence, servicing heating and air conditioning for clients in all fifty states and Canada. So they set their sights on an office location off of Glendale-Milford Road at the Blue Ash Business Park. A lease was signed for 10,600 square feet and Kiesland was hired to complete the interior finish.
The Kiesland Team worked with the regional EE office as well as the local staff throughout the process. As is always the case in construction, adjustments were made along the way. An open line of communication was kept open for us and we enjoyed a great working relationship with their staff for this project.
The new space incorporates two large open areas for work stations, a large training room and multiple private offices. The middle of the office was gutted to create an open lounge area for employees to relax and enjoy their lunch. A bright color scheme was selected by some of the EE Staff for the offices and common areas. Colorful posters and inspirational sayings are posted throughout the office. Movie themes are in the lounge. The result is a comfortable space with plenty of room and multiple work environments to accommodate the variety of teams that work together to service their national accounts.
We sat down with Andy Beto, who is the Vice President and General Manager for this location at the conclusion of the project. “We have done these moves all over the country and this one was one of the smoothest.” Said Andy. Thanks Andy. It was a pleasure to be a part of your big move.
Montgomery, Ohio – Kiesland recently completed construction of Health Academy Chiropractic, located in Montgomery. Eric Tipton project managed the construction and worked closely with the owner of the practice, Dr. Kelly Greer, who selected this location because of its excellent storefront exposure on Montgomery Road, proximity to her home and her patient base.
For this project, an open office environment was designed with exposed ceilings to utilize the natural light from large storefront windows. The open ceiling area includes the reception, waiting area, and half-wall massage room to create an inviting entry for patients. From there, the patients proceed to individual rooms for treatment and privacy. These rooms feature distinctive sliding “barn-style doors” which match the modern décor and feel of the space. With this design, Dr. Greer can see up to sixty patients per day in a space that is only 1,250 square feet.
The finished product is a lively, ultra-efficient office that works well for the practice and its patients. It is always gratifying for us to see the customer’s dream become a reality when they move into their new space. In the case of Health Academy Chiropractic, Kiesland is proud that we could be a part of that dream.
Dr. Kelly Greer has thirteen years of chiropractic experience in the Cincinnati area. Health Academy’s mission is to help patients achieve optimal health and wellness by providing advanced spinal correction utilizing state of the art chiropractic techniques and equipment. Her approach is direct and efficient because she understands that people do not have the time nor the patience for health problems.
