Lebanon, Ohio. Quantum Metals continues to grow, recently completing a 25,520 sf expansion to the existing facility located in the Columbia Business Park. With this expansion, the facility is now over 120,000 sf.
Quantum, founded in 1994 provides INNOVATIVE SCRAP SOLUTIONS, focusing on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, brass and high temperature alloys www.quantummetals.com.
Quantum offers an extensive array of products catering to a variety of industries and customers regionally and around the globe. Kiesland constructed Quantum’s original facility in 1999 with a subsequent expansion 2004.
The most recent expansion was built in response to increased market demand for aluminum processing, particularly products related to the automotive industry. An innovative scrap processing system developed in Europe was the centerpiece of the expansion. The processing system is unique in the USA providing Quantum with expanded capacity and increased efficiencies. The building addition features heavy duty floors, 40’ interior clear height and 96’ clear span structure which enables flexibility and efficient flow of materials via conveyors. Roof system is Butler®MR-24® standing seam. In addition to the high bay LED lighting system the building benefits from extensive daylight harvesting utilizing the SunLite Strip® roof skylights with light sensors controlling the building lighting.
When asked to comment on this project and reflect on the long-term relationship with Kiesland, Cheryl Kolb co- founder of Quantum Metals, stated “… I am very selective in the vendors I choose to service my company. The fact that we made the choice time after time over an 18 year period, speaks for itself in the confidence of quality and comfort knowing that I have a team looking out for my best interest.”

Evendale, Ohio. Final plans and zoning approvals are underway for construction of a new multi-tenant retail center on Reading Road (SR42) in Evendale. The 14,000 sf center will be located on a former restaurant infill site located on the east side of 42 across from the popular Sports Plus Arena.
Tenant interest has been very high due to lack of available product in the area, stable demographics and high traffic counts. It is expected that the center will enhance the corridor and fit in nicely with Evendale’s master plan.
Leasing discussions are underway with a number of potential tenants. Look for additional announcements to be forthcoming in the next 60 days. Construction is planned for early fall 2017 with shell completion in 1st quarter of 2018.

FirstStar Logistics is a global logistics shipping provider offering multi-modal solutions to a variety of industries. First Star is unique in that they offer an affiliated national trucking platform as well as in-house brokerage services. The company has experienced solid growth in recent years due to its unique business model/approach, outstanding customer service and entrepreneurial culture. The new facility needed to support continued growth, foster teamwork and reinforce the company’s image.
Project challenges were numerous. Initially, a very quick turnaround was required for the initial phase of the work to accommodate relocation of the customer services and operation staff. The second, more extensive phase, involved conversion of a former copier showroom into executive offices and conferencing center. The existing building featured a lofted ceiling and a central skylight well which were retained in the final design. Other new design features included natural stone, extensive glass, stainless steel trim and built-in fountain and fireplace features.
Kiesland is proud to have been a part of this project and extends our best wishes to the FirstStar Team for continued growth and success in this 1st class facility.
